Adelaide school taps geothermal energy for pool heating, air conditioning

A school in South Australia will become the first in the state to tap geothermal energy to provide cheaper, renewable heating and cooling for its indoor pool facility.

St Peters College, in Adelaide, will have a geothermal energy system designed and installed by Sydney-based company, GeoExchange Australia, to heat its pool and provide air conditioning for the building housing the pool.

Panasonic’s gas-fired GHP VRF system has been installed to provide heating and cooling for new offices of real-estate organisation Savills in the centre of Dublin to overcome the problem of the availability of electricity in a city where the grid is operating at capacity. The new office is in a famous listed building and accommodates 170 staff. The load on the GHP system is 243 kW.

FIREFIGHTERS are warning homeowners to service air conditioners before the heat returns after a fire damaged a northern suburbs home this morning.

Multiple people contacted the Metropolitan Fire Service this morning, alerting them to a blaze in an airconditioning unit at a house on Catalina Rd, Elizabeth East, just before 7am.
